HC LINEAR IT Development Ltd. has developed a railway passenger information system within the framework of the Economic Development and Innovation Operational Programme (GINOP) GINOP-2.1.7-15 "Prototype, product, technology and service development" call for proposals "Development of a modern, GPS-controlled, automatic data acquisition, external and internal passenger information and seat occupancy display system for passenger railway wagons", project ID GINOP-2.1.7-15-2016-01061.

The aim of the project was to prototype a cost-effective, domestically developed and manufactured, complex system - hardware components and special embedded software - for the collection of innovative measurement data, seat occupancy indicators, GPS passenger information and display elements, which can be installed on specialised passenger rail vehicles, in compliance with international standards.

Control unit with touchscreen, built-in data storage, interfaces, audio system, enclosure: Central management, control and communication unit with 7" capacitive touchscreen, 3U height, 19" standard rack mountable case, 4 RS-485, 1 CAN 2.0, 1 audio, 1 USB, 1 Ethernet, 1 GPS antenna interface. The device is able to control various passenger information displays, to communicate with measurement data acquisition hardware, and to interface with the vehicle diagnostic system and other external peripherals (e.g. LAN port of a rail car WiFi router).

Indoor and outdoor environmental quality sensor: the device is a device specifically designed for the railway environment to measure environmental conditions (temperature, relative humidity, ambient noise, acceleration), resistant to the climatic and mechanical conditions of the environment.

LED direction indicator: the device is a high brightness direction and route indicator with LED technology, specially designed for the railway environment, resistant to the climatic and mechanical conditions, usually mounted on the side wall of the wagon. The display housing is suitable for recessed installation. The display is able to display the character set of the official languages of the UIC member countries.

Front (recessed chassis), cab (single side chassis) and thermal (double side chassis) LCD monitor: set of rail-mounted LCD displays with FHD resolution, 21.5" diagonal, single and double and 13.3" diagonal, respectively, for interior visual passenger information. The LCD product range includes LCD passenger information displays specially designed for the railway environment, capable of dynamically displaying passenger information such as current and next stops, train routes, transfer options, etc.

Seat occupancy display: the device is an OLED technology seat occupancy display specially designed for the railway environment, resistant to the climatic and mechanical conditions of the environment, usually placed above the seats or next to the entrance of the passenger cabins. The display housing is suitable for concealed/recessed installation. The display is able to display the character set of the official languages of the UIC member countries.
